The Greeneville law firm of Milligan & Coleman announced in a news release that Elijah T. Settlemyre has joined the firm.

Settlemyre is the son of Tommy and Lisa Settlemyre and a native of Loudon County, Tenn.

He earned a bachelor's degree in history from the University of Tennessee in 2010, graduating summa cum laude, according to the release.

While at the University of Tennessee, Settlemyre completed an honor's thesis on the Civil War in East Tennessee and graduated from the Chancellor's Honors Program.

He received his law degree from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 2013, where he graduated summa cum laude.

During law school, he served as a member of the Tennessee Law Review and Transactions: The Tennessee Journal of Business Law, the release states.

Settlemyre joins Tom Kilday, Ron Woods, Jeff Ward, Tom Garland Jr. and Brandy Burnette in practice with the firm, along with Gene Gaby, who, although retired, remains in an active counsel position with the firm, the release says.
