The Bachman Bernard Cadillac dealership in Greeneville has been presented the prestigious 2012 Mark of Excellence award from the Cadillac division of General Motors.

The award recognizes Bachman Bernard Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, Cadillac as being one the highest performing Cadillac dealerships in the nation.

"It's the biggest award we've ever seen and Cadillac's highest award we could have possibly earned," said co-owner Myron Bernard earlier this week.

The dealership has been selling Cadillacs in Greeneville since May 1967.

At that time, co-owner Phil Bachman was the youngest Cadillac dealer in the nation. Bachman now has more Cadillac experience than any other dealer in the nation, Bernard said on Tuesday.

Accompanying the award was a statement by Chase Hawkins, vice president of sales and service for the Cadillac division of General Motors, who said, "You've demonstrated the drive needed to be a champion of this brand and contributed to writing the next chapter in reclaiming Cadillac as the 'Standard of the World.'

"To earn your place among this elite group of Cadillac dealers, you established yourself as a top performer for Sales Excellence Index, met the Customer Satisfaction Index goal, Retail Sales Index target, and Essential Brand Elements objectives," Hawkins said.

"Each of those accomplishments is impressive on its own," Hawkins continued, "but reaching all four of those goals requires commitment, skill and an unwavering focus on excellence -- and that deserves special recognition.

"In a highly competitive marketplace and crowded luxury market, your commitment to Cadillac has had a tremendous positive impact on the entire organization," Hawkins said in the release.

"Thank you for your continued support, and we wish you the best in 2013," he concluded.

Joining Hawkins in congratulating the Bachman Bernard dealership was Don Butler, vice president of marketing for Cadillac.

The award was presented by David R. Orr, district sales manager of the General Motors Southeast Region.

Bachman Bernard Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, Cadillac is at 3365 E. Andrew Johnson Hwy.

The telephone number is 639-4441.
