Brandon Hull, President and Chief Executive Officer of Greeneville Federal Bank, has announced that Bill Adams has joined the bank as Chief Operating Officer.

Adams assumed his new role at Greeneville Federal on Monday.

Hull stated in a news release that "I am excited to announce the addition of Bill Adams to the management team at Greeneville Federal Bank.

"Bill brings a wealth of banking experience and expertise, having held a number of significant banking positions throughout his distinguished career.

"He is also highly regarded in the community, having led and/or participated in numerous civic, charitable and community activities in Greeneville and Greene County over the past 14 years.

"His experience, personality and community-mindedness fit well with Greeneville Federal's commitment to Greeneville and Greene County as the area's oldest locally-owned community bank.

"Despite the current difficult economic conditions, we are optimistic about the future and about Greeneville Federal's ongoing participation in the growth and prosperity of our community.

"The addition of Bill Adams is further confirmation of this optimism and commitment."

Adams and his wife, Allison, moved to Greeneville in 1998 when Adams took on the role of Chief Information Officer at Greene County Bank (later GreenBank).

They raised their three children, Caroline, Camille and Nate, in Greeneville and have been active in the city schools and various community and charitable organizations.

Adams remained Chief Information Officer at GreenBank until 2011, when GreenBank was acquired by Capital Bank, at which time he was named Integration and Operations Executive at Capital Bank.

He held that position until joining Greeneville Federal this week.

Adams stated in the news release that "I am honored to be joining the Greeneville Federal Bank team.

"I look forward to working with the talented and experienced management team and staff at Greeneville Federal to continue the legacy of customer service and commitment to community that have been hallmarks at Greeneville Federal for over 50 years."

Greeneville Federal Bank was founded in 1960 and is the oldest locally-owned community bank in Greene County.

Greeneville Federal is a full-service bank offering a comprehensive variety of consumer, commercial and mortgage loans as well as consumer and commercial checking accounts, savings accounts, CD's and IRA's.

Its headquarters are located at the corner of Summer and Main streets with additional full-service locations at 903 Tusculum Blvd. and 2305 East Andrew Johnson Hwy.

A drive-thru facility is located at 130 West Summer Street.
