Inc. magazine has included Blair Companies -- of which locally-based Blair Composites is a part -- on its seventh annual Inc. 500|5000, an exclusive ranking of the nation's fastest-growing private companies.

The 2013 Inc. 500|5000 is ranked according to percentage revenue growth when comparing 2009 to 2012.
To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2009.
As of Dec. 31, 2012, they also had to be U.S.-based, privately-held, for-profit businesses, and independent -- not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies.
According to the Inc. magazine Internet web site for the 2013 list, Blair Companies, based in Altoona, Pa., is ranked 4701 on the overall list, with three-year revenue growth of 44 percent, from $47.8 million in 2009 to $69.1 million in 2012.
The company is grouped with the manufacturing category within the overall list.
