Recently-opened DC Automotive & Detailing operates on simple, yet time-tested principles: "Just keep the prices down and do great work," said owner and detailer David Haston.

With a detailer, two mechanics, and a shop apprentice on staff, DC offers a wide range of services.

Full-service detailing, brake repair, oil changes, transmission service, and anything from minor to major repairs are all available options.

Though Haston spent his last eight years in the healthcare field, he has more than 15 years of experience detailing cars.

He started out at the Bachman-Bernard dealership, and previously managed The Wash Wizard in Greeneville.

Specialties such as painting the engine bay and fender wells, along with the typical body area of the car, afford Haston a potential niche in the local market, he said.

Joining Haston in his return to the automotive business is head mechanic Christopher Duvall, a 17-year veteran. The other mechanic is Todd Roberts, and the apprentice is Spencer Sams.

Providing a family-friendly atmosphere and fostering a good relationship with local car club Lowered Obsessions, this new business-owner said he is confident that he has "the best rates in town."

The office and shop are located at Suite 3, 1149 Tusculum Blvd.

Hours are from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.
