DTR Tennessee was recognized with three quality awards by Nissan at the 2013 Nissan Annual Supplier Conference and awards ceremony on Oct. 9-10.

DTR, located in Midway, supplies parts to all of the Nissan Americas plants, which include those in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

The first Nissan award received is the 2013 regional supplier ZERO Defect Certificate.

DTR was one of 21 companies honored with this award, which recognizes companies that achieve an overall defect rate of less than 3 PPM (parts per million), based on quality evaluations from April 1, 2012 to March 31, 2013.

Another award received was the 2013 Regional Supplier Quality Master Certificate.

This award recognizes top production suppliers based on quality evaluations from Nissan Engineering, Manufacturing, Product Quality, Production Control, and Purchasing divisions.

Suppliers are rated on performance, including PPM rate, warranty, counter-measure lead time, recalls and responsiveness from the April 1, 2012 to March 31, 2013 time frame.

DTR Tennessee is one of seven companies that achieved this award.

Finally, DTR earned the 2013 Regional Supplier Quality Award, which recognizes the best companies of the Nissan North Americas supply base.

DTR Tennessee was one of only four companies to achieve this outstanding recognition out of more than 500 suppliers, a news release said.

"DTR Tennessee is thrilled to receive this recognition from one of our key customers," said Tetsu Matsui, president and CEO of DTR Tennessee, in the news release.

"It represents the outstanding quality and performance our associates provide to Nissan on a daily basis. We are proud to receive this award and hope to continue to build on our success with Nissan."

Attending the meeting and receiving the award on behalf of DTR associates was Randy Rumbley, senior vice president and COO of DTR Tennessee.

"DTR strives to provide quality products on a timely basis, and these awards recognize these activities," Rumbley said.

"Our associates work hard on a daily basis to achieve our safety, quality and production goals, and this is a true honor to them," Rumbley added.

DTR Tennessee, a leading supplier of automotive anti-vibration and hose products, has more than 1,200 employees at its plants in Midway and Tazewell.
