For Jeanine Medley, owner of The Learning Tree daycare facility in Greeneville, professional childcare is more than a business.
"We genuinely care about the children," she said, adding that she sees the kids as part of a family.
The Learning Tree is located at 150 Marshall Lane in Greeneville.
It opened for business on July 9.
The building is rented from the Temple of God Church, although the daycare facility has no affiliation with the church.
Medley is no stranger to the childcare field.
After running the Kids Kab, a transportation service for kids based out of Greeneville, for four years and working in daycare for another four years, she said she makes sure her teachers are equally qualified.
"All of our teachers have been in the childcare field for at least four years," she said.
All of the teachers on staff must also receive the necessary state-required training.
The Learning Tree, for ages 6 weeks through 6 years, also provides financial assistance to those in need by accepting Families First and offering competitive rates.
The Learning Tree is open Monday through Friday, from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
The telephone number is 787-0014.
