Lighthouse Independent Living, a business that serves individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, will hold an open house from 1 to 4 p.m. on Friday at the organization's new location.
Lighthouse Independent Living, previously headquartered in Johnson City, moved in October to its new main location at 251 Bigwood Road, in Limestone.
The new site is on a 30-acre farm.
"Hopefully when spring comes, we will be able to expand even more," said Wendy Owens, executive director of Lighthouse Independent Living. Some of the things Owens hopes to develop include a walking trail, gardening program and equine program.
Lighthouse Independent Living serves all of East Tennessee, providing homes to be rented by intellectually and developmentally disabled persons.
The organization has 10 homes in East Tennessee, three in Greene County.
The business, founded seven years ago, provides various types of assistance to those renting the homes.
The Limestone headquarters is open to the community, not just those renting from one of the 10 homes, Owens said.
