A philanthropy-focused coffee shop, Catalyst Coffee Company, is having its grand opening this weekend in downtown Greeneville.
One of the main goals of Catalyst will be to pour 100 percent of its profits back into the local community through other supporting non-profit organizations, a news release says.
The new venture is supported by First Christian Church of Greeneville. Scott Wakefield, senior minister at First Christian, said the church is in a time of growth, and the congregation wants to find a unique way to reach the community.
"Instead of reinventing the wheel, let's do something that supports those who are already doing good work," Scott said in the release.
Catalyst will offer espresso and coffee drinks, teas, smoothies, juices, as well as light fare like wraps, sandwiches, soups and more.
The coffee company will also be roasting coffee beans for its own use, as well as to sell retail and local restaurants.
Coffee-lovers can find Catalyst at the corner of North Main and Depot streets in downtown Greeneville at 101 N. Main St.
Hours will be 6 a.m.-9 p.m., Monday through Friday, 7 a.m.-9 p.m., Saturday, and closed on Sundays.
