Quilting by Design, at 183 Stockton Road, Chuckey, is open for all one's machine-quilting needs.
"I can quilt any size quilt," said Nancy Clayburn, owner of the business. "I can do anything from meandering to pantograph pattern, which is an all-over design-pattern -- from custom to heirloom quilts."
Clayburn does professional long-arm machine quilting. People with quilts can bring the patterns to Clayburn, who then machine-quilts the finished product.
Clayburn, who has been in the business for more than 12 years, said that several of her quilts for customers have won awards in various quilting competitions.
She said her customers' quilts have even been juried in the quilt capital of the nation -- Paducah, Ky.
Those in the quilting community should recognize the name of one of her former customers: Georgia Bonesteel, a famous quilter.
Clayburn said that she considers herself an artist, and her machine-quilting is an extension of that artistry. She said many customers have given her artistic freedom in the past, which she said she enjoys.
She moved recently from Missouri to Greene County and brought her quilting business with her.
Price is determined on an individual quilt basis, she said.
Clayburn added that she is running a special until the end of December of an overall meandering quilt for $50 for any size quilt.
