Parrish Named Manager At Walmart Dist. Center

Bill Parrish has been named new general manager at the Walmart Distribution Center in Midway.

Parrish replaces Ted Rideout, who was discharged last month.

"We can confirm that we have a new manager," said Wal-Mart corporate spokesperson Betsy Hardin in a telephone interview.

Parrish has been with Wal-Mart since 1998, Hardin said.

Most recently, Parrish has been at the Walmart Distribution Center in Fort Pierce, Fla.

Hardin would not discuss in detail reasons for Rideout's dismissal.

"We don't discuss personnel questions," Hardin said.

"Respect for the individual is a core belief at Wal-Mart," she added.

"We hold all of our associates to this standard, including those that manage people," Hardin said.

Rideout had been general manager at the distribution center in Midway for about two years.

Rideout confirmed to The Greeneville Sun in a telephone interview that he is no longer with Wal-Mart and is currently pursuing other interests.

Hardin also confirmed that Jeff Gregg, who was an assistant manager at the distribution center, is no longer at the local distribution center, but is still employed by the company.
