Plum Natural, a health food store, has scheduled a grand opening on Tuesday, June 14, at 1720 W. Main St.

Plum Natural features health food items, an extensive line of vitamins, herbs, remedies, bulk food, vegetarian food, gluten-free food, and beauty items.

In addition, the next-door Plum Tasty deli, when it opens in July, will have vegetarian items that include soup, salad and sandwiches.

There will also be a smoothie bar at Plum Tasty with frozen yogurt, non-dairy ice cream, all-fruit smoothies, carrot juice and protein drinks.

The businesses are owned by Ron and Cindy Lynch, who are part of the Greene County Better Living Center: a group that has gotten together to teach organic gardening and solar energy as well as natural healing.

Cindy Lynch says Plum Natural is a store where one can also learn how to grow an organic garden, get instructions in cooking, and learn how to bake bread.

Plum Natural also features a stop-smoking clinic, she said.

Business hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday.

Plum Tasty deli, when it opens next month, will have lunch hours of 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday with take-out and catering available. The smoothie bar will have extended hours.

The deli manager will be Brenda Ondrejka.

The telephone number is 787-7782.
