Doug Callan, owner of Cove Creek Fire Trucks in Greeneville, has been named 4 Guys Fire Trucks Salesman of the Year for 2011.

A retired professional firefighter, Callan has been selling trucks for 4 Guys since 1997.

His sales territory includes all of Tennessee, as well as portions of Virginia, North Carolina and Kentucky.

Callan has sold numerous trucks in East Tennessee, including in recent years to volunteer fire departments in Tusculum, DeBusk, Caney Branch and Fall Branch.

In the process, he has earned 4 Guys' prestigious Salesman of the Year award eight of the last nine years.

"I love selling trucks," Callan said. "Helping customers design a new fire truck and then watching it all come together is very rewarding," he said in a news release.

Based in Meyersdale Pa., 4 Guys sells fire pumpers, tankers, rescue trucks and aerial apparatus in the United States and Canada through a network of local dealers and salesmen.

"We couldn't do what we do without our salesmen," said 4 Guys Sales Manager Fred Meyers.

"No matter how good your product is, it's the personal relationships our salesmen build with their customers that make it all possible. Doug is very good at that," Meyers said.

"Having a great product to sell makes being a salesman a much easier job," Callan said.
