Elegance or rusticity, bling or simplicity -- whatever the vision and whatever the occasion, Towne & Country Event Rentals & Venues strives to have the needed items to bring an event to life.
One of Greeneville's newest businesses, Towne & Country is now open at 201 West Summer Street, Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
"Anything you could imagine for any special event, we have all of it," owner Carol Brown said. "If you want elegance to the rustic look, it's here."
If an item is not in the store, additional items are available through catalog, Brown says. and if Towne & Country does not offer a certain service, Brown said she has local recommendations ready at hand.
The wide variety of products available focus mainly on weddings (Brown's favorite category of event), but items are available for just about any occasion, she said.
Rentals are the primary service that the business offers, with a variety of items available, including:
* furniture items, such as chairs and tables;
* fabric decor, such as chair covers and sashes, overlays and table linens;
* dinner items, such as a beverage or chocolate fountain, dinner ware, punch bowls and cake stands; and,
* larger decor items, such as large artificial floral arrangements, candelabras, columns, arches and a gazebo.
Retail items are also available, including Kate Middleton fashion jewelry, home accessories, favors and more.
In addition to these products, Brown offers event consultations at no extra cost.
Her 4,200-square-foot display room features a designated table to visit with clients as they share their vision, budget and needs.
In fact, she said budgeting is her number one piece of advice for brides.
Brown added that she has between about 20 to 25 years of experience in planning for weddings in addition to her time spent managing the former MECO Factory Store, where she quickly became familiar with the rental business.
"Obviously, that was my cup of tea, of course. Fell right into that one," she said.
Beyond the rentals and retail, Towne & Country also offers three event venues: Crescent Ballroom, La Loma Estate, and the City Garage Car Museum.
Brown praised the unique history within the Crescent Ballroom, located within the old Crescent Elementary School at 615 West Main St., as well as the natural beauty of La Loma Estate's rolling hills and mountain views at 3041 Asheville Hwy.
The City Garage Car Museum, located at 210 South Main St., offers the unique feature of 40 antique cars, some of which are available to rent for a minimum of three hours, she said.
She welcomed anyone to come by, browse the store, ask about pricing, and share their vision of their special occasion.
