Jeffrey D. Carter, 38, of 1590 Allens Bridge Road, was charged with aggravated assault in connection with an incident early Sunday at the Handle Bar & Grill, 8310 E. Andrew Johnson Hwy., sheriff's Deputy Greg Tipton said in a report.
Deputies responded to an assault call and when they arrived "found a white female lying in the doorway of the club, naked from the waist up with a knot to the forehead."
A witness told deputies the victim was with Carter before she was assaulted. She and Carter had left when the club closed, the report said.
The victim "was trying to crawl into the door of the club and collapsed in the doorway," the report said.
The victim was taken by Greene County-Greeneville Emergency Medical Service to an urgent care facility in Johnson City.
Carter was held on no bond pending.
