Amy Swango-Wilson, Ph.D., R.N. has been appointed to serve on Greene Valley Developmental Center's (GVDC) Board of Trustees.
A news release from the Center issued Monday afternoon says the appointment was made by James Henry, commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.
Diane Brightwell, GVDC's chief officer, stated, "We are very fortunate to have Dr. Swango-Wilson join our Board of Trustees.
"Her experience in the intellectual and developmental disabilities field will be an invaluable resource to Greene Valley."
Swango-Wilson has 36 years of professional nursing experience -- many of which are were spent in the area of assisting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
She is an author with a wide collection of publications and has also conducted numerous presentations in her field of expertise.
Swango-Wilson is presently an associate nursing professor with Milligan College and has taught at several universities and colleges throughout the country.
