Attempted Abduction Reported By Woman

Greeneville police continue an investigation into the reported attempted abduction of a woman about 9:30 a.m. Wednesday as she walked along West Bernard Avenue.

The 19-year-old was walking along the road in the area of the Terry Bellamy Soccer Complex when a white male "came up behind her and picked her up and put her into his pickup truck," Officer Roy Milton said in a report.

The victim was able to escape "by kicking him in the groin area, and when he fell to the ground, she was able to run away to her home," the report said.

The full narrative by the officer was not available this morning.

The victim told officers "that she did not get a good look at him, but could tell that he was a white male driving a pickup truck that was bright," the report said.
