Most banks and federal offices will be closed on Monday, Oct. 12, in observance of Columbus Day, a federal holiday.
The U.S. Postal Service will be closed, and there will be no mail delivery that day.
Also closed will be the Social Security office and all offices in the James H. Quillen United States Courthouse.
MANY OFFICES TO BE OPEN
However, the town halls in Greeneville, Baileyton, Mosheim and Tusculum will be open on Monday.
Also, all offices in the Greene County Courthouse and the courthouse annex will be open on Monday, along with the county's convenience centers for garbage collection.
Also open on Monday will be the Greene County Health Department, the local office of the Tennessee Department of Human Services, and the University of Tennessee Agricultural Extension Service office.
Both the Greeneville Light & Power System and the Greeneville Water Department offices will be open Monday.
Also open on Mondaywill be the YMCA of Greene County, the Greeneville-Greene County Public Library, and the Greene County Partnership.
Students in the Greeneville City School System will be out of school from Monday, Oct. 12 through Wednesday, Oct. 14, for Fall Break, with teachers doing professional development activities on Oct. 13 and 14.
The Greene County School System will observe Fall Break on Friday, Oct. 9 and Monday, Oct. 12, with Friday being a professional development day for teachers.
The Greeneville Sun will publish on a regular schedule on Monday, Oct. 12, and its office will be open during normal business hours that day.
