Anyone who receives an email purporting to be from the
Greeneville Light & Power System informing the recipient that he or she has won a $1,000 Visa
Gift Card “free of charge” should ignore and delete the communication.
It’s a scam, GL&PS General Manager Bill Carroll said.
In order to claim the free gift card, the recipient is required to go to another website and provide personal information.
“It’s obviously a scam and people just need to ignore it and delete it,” Carroll said.
