Burglary, Vandalism Charged After Incident At Church

William Dean Dunbar, 44, of 390 Keller Road, Afton, was charged Saturday with burglary, vandalism over $1,000, and public intoxication, sheriff's Deputy Sam Reaves said in a report.

Dunbar allegedly broke into the Fellowship Hall of Horse Creek Mission Church on Horse Creek Park Road in Chuckey "by use of force to two doors," the report said.

Deputies were called about "a man walking around a church yelling," the report said.

Dunbar was found nearby "passed out in a field with his shirt off and not able to speak with any reasoning," the report said.

The burglary and vandalism charges were added after further investigation.

Six tables, 10 chairs, two doors and wood paneling were damaged inside the fellowship hall, the report said.

Damage to property totals more than $4,500.

Bond for Dunbar was set at $12,800 pending a first scheduled General Sessions Court appearance today.
