The Greene County Commission ended on Monday night the weeks-long discussion of whether Commissioner Tim White violated the County Code of Ethics earlier this year.
In a deeply divided vote after almost two hours of sometimes-intense discussion, the overall commission, with White abstaining, ruled that he had not violated the Code.
The action apparently cuts off further action by the commission on the highly controversial matter.
The conflict-of-interest question arose in August in connection with some excavation work that a company co-owned by Commissioner White did for the County School System in the late spring.
Please see Tuesday's issue of The Greeneville Sun for details of the meeting.
