Companies Seek Employees At Career Fair On Nov. 5

At the request of several Greene County employers, the Greene County Partnership will be hosting a Career Fair on Tuesday, Nov. 5, at the Comfort Inn, at 1790 E. Andrew Johnson Hwy., from 1 to 5 p.m.

Several companies have already committed to participate.

Those that will have representatives present include Angus-Palm Industries, C&C Millwright Maintenance Co., The Donaldson Company, DTR Tennessee, Huf North America and John Deere Power Products.

"When we surveyed local industries to determine the need for a career fair, some of our strongest local companies immediately responded," said Tom Ferguson, president/CEO of the Partnership in a news release.

"The first to sign up was Huf North America which is in the process of a $20 million expansion that will result in the addition of approximately 160 new jobs over the next three years, as well as more than 25 corporate positions," Ferguson said.

"Although a few of the participating industries are looking to fill skill-specific positions, there are many employers who want to hire good workers and provide them training to fill positions with their companies," Ferguson continued.

"Let me be the first to encourage all unemployed individuals with good basic work ethics to attend the fair and apply for these jobs."

Those attending the career fair are also encouraged to take several copies of resumes, as well as certifications or licenses if applying for skilled positions.

For more information regarding the career fair or to sign up to participate, contact Lori Collins at the Greene County Partnership, 638-4111, or email (gcp@greenecop.com)
