The Andrew Johnson National Historic Site, in conjunction with the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia, will recognize Constitution Week beginning Tuesday, Sept. 17, and continuing through Monday, Sept. 23.
This year's Constitution Week marks the 226th anniversary of the signing of the United States Constitution.
Throughout the week, visitors are invited to join the original signers of the U.S. Constitution by adding their names to a copy of the document at the Andrew Johnson Visitor Center.
Pocket copies of the Constitution will be given to young visitors free of charge.
President Andrew Johnson was known as the Defender of the Constitution and relied on it as a source of guidance and determination during his climb to the highest office in the land, a news release stated.
The Visitor Center is open daily from 9 a.m.. until 5 p.m. except on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day.
