County Fair Will Again Feature Singing Contest

Needed By June 30;

Top Prize Is $2,000

The Greene County Fair this year we will have its second annual "Greeneville's Greatest" singing contest, said Rhonda Humbert, the fair's vice president.

The 61st annual Greene County Fair will be held from Monday Aug. 9, through Saturday, Aug. 14.

The singing contest will be open to those of all ages.

"We will be accepting audition tapes through June 30," Humbert said.

"We will pick 30 contestants to sing for a panel of judges at the GreenBank Pavilion throughout the week of the fair.

"On the Main Stage we will bring all 30 contestants back and announce the top 12 who will sing the song of their choice.

Judges will pick the "Greeneville's Greatest" of the Greene County Fair.

"This contest is for amateurs only. All music must be taped. No bands, please. This is a singing contest."

The winner will receive $2,000, with second place paying $200 and third place $100.
