Sheriff's deputies continue an investigation of a robbery reported to have occurred about 10 p.m. Saturday in the parking lot of the Food Country USA market, 6766 W. Andrew Johnson Hwy.
The report by Deputy Jimmy Willett, made available today, said that a 50-year-old male victim told deputies that he and his wife drove to the market, parked, and he went inside the store.
When the man came back outside, he "noticed a white female with blonde hair fighting with his wife," the report said.
The woman pulled the victim's purse away from her and, as the husband attempted to assist his wife, he was "grabbed" by a large man who "ripped his pocket off his blue jeans, then took his wallet," the report said.
The man and woman ran to a silver Pontiac Grand Am and left the parking lot driving toward Mosheim.
People in the parking lot deputies spoke with after they arrived "had not seen anything," the report said.
The brown leather wallet contained $11. The tan purse contained $4 cash, the report said.
The male suspect is about 6 feet 2 inches in height, the report said.
