The season finale of the Greeneville Parks and Recreation Department's Summer Concert Series at Dogwood Park will be held this Sunday, Sept. 9, beginning at 5 p.m.

The concert will feature Grammy-nominated artist Darrell Scott, Appalachian reggae artist Ras Alan, and local musical talent Stephen Winslow, along with Ben Kirk.

Members of the Greeneville High School Marching Band and Summer Taylor of Johnson City will also perform.

In addition to the concert itself, a range of other fun activities are planned for the final event of the summer season.

Rural Resources will offer a local-foods dinner with ice cream for dessert from Creamy Cup, and homemade apple pie.

There will be farm-based games and activities with prizes for children and door prizes for adults, all contributed by local businesses, restaurants, and banks.

The evening will end with a fireworks display, sponsored by Popcorn Video, Creamy Cup, and Boomland Fireworks.

There is no charge, but donations are accepted.

Dogwood Park is behind Tusculum View Elementary School, at 1725 Lafayette St.

In case of rain, the event will be held at the Niswonger Performing Arts Center, 212 Tusculum Blvd.

This concluding event of the concert series, other than the fireworks display, is sponsored by the East Tennessee Foundation and the Tennessee Arts Commission as well as Tri City Beverage, the Town of Greeneville, the Greeneville Parks and Recreation Department, Graysburg Hills Farm, and Snapps Ferry Packing Co.

For more information, please contact the Greeneville Parks and Recreation Department at 638-3143 or Rural Resources at 636-8171.
