Evading, Resisting Arrest Charged After Traffic Stop

Nathan F. Jones, 46, of 7795 107 Cutoff, was charged Monday night with a felony count of evading arrest and resisting arrest, sheriff's Deputy Stacey Lawing said in a report.

Deputies investigated a call about a possible erratic driver in the Greystone Road area, and saw a GMC pickup truck cross the center line of the two-lane road.

"I activated emergency lights, and the driver of the vehicle failed to stop," the report said.

Spike strips were placed on Shelton Mission Road.

Jones allegedly turned around and headed back toward Greystone Road, where his truck was blocked by another deputy.

After the traffic stop, Jones "was given commands to get out of the vehicle (and he) refused," and was forcibly removed by two deputies.

He allegedly fought with deputies while being handcuffed, the report said.

Bond was set at $11,000 pending a first scheduled General Sessions Court appearance today.
