A federal grand jury has indicted Larry Shane Morgan on six counts related to the recent armed robbery of a branch of Greeneville Federal Bank and a Stop & Go market at Chuckey.
In addition, Kaylen L. Butcher has been indicted on two federal counts related to the armed robbery of the market.
The indictments were filed Tuesday.
The bank branch, located on East Andrew Johnson Highway at the intersection with Fairgrounds Road, was robbed on Monday, July 2. The market was robbed on Thursday, June 28.
Morgan and Butcher were arrested on Tuesday, July 3.
Morgan was initially arrested on two federal charges, while Butcher was not initially charged with federal violations.
She was, however, arrested on state-level charges relating to the robbery of the market. She is not charged in connection with the bank robbery.
Both Morgan and Butcher are being held in the Greene County Detention Center.
They were scheduled to be arraigned on the federal indictments at 10:30 a.m. today before U.S. Magistrate Judge Dennis H. Inman.
Morgan was indicted Tuesday on the following charges:
* one count of Obstruction of Commerce by Robbery, in connection with the robbery of the market;
* two counts of knowingly using, carrying and brandishing a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence, in connection with the robbery of the market;
* one count of bank robbery;
* two counts of being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Butcher was indicted on the following two counts:
* one count of Obstruction of Commerce by Robbery, in connection with the robbery of the market;
* one count of knowingly using, carrying and brandishing a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence, in connection with the robbery of the market.
