The Festival of Trees Open House will take place this Sunday, from 2 to 4 p.m., in the Greeneville Commons between Q Nails and Southern Belle Bridal.

The open house will feature refreshments, music and the opportunity to register for a number to bid on the 17 trees and more than 20 wreaths, centerpieces and nativity scenes that will be offered.

Silent-auction bidding will begin at the open house and continue through noon on Tuesday, Nov. 26. The entry fee for the open house is one canned food item that will be donated to the local food bank.

All proceeds from the Festival of Trees will go to fund the Tourism Department of the Greene County Partnership and the Tourism Department's sports council for use in promoting Greeneville and Greene County as a vacation and sports destination.

Additional hours of bidding are Nov. 18-22 and Nov. 25 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday, Nov. 23, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sunday, Nov. 24, 1-5 p.m.; and Tuesday, Nov. 26, 10 a.m. to noon. All winners must remove their displays from the site by noon on Wednesday, Nov. 27.

The event is sponsored by Food City, DTR Tennessee, The Greeneville Sun and WCYB.
