Fire Chars 6 Acres,
Threatens Structures

Photo special to the Sun/DeBusk VFD

A grass and brush fire that spread across about six acres on Monday afternoon threatened multiple structures in the 3100 block of Old Kentucky Road South. When DeBusk Volunteer Fire Department units arrived, the wind-swept blaze had spread and was approximately 60 feet away from one of the surrounding structures. With the help of the Cedar Creek and South Greene VFDs, the flames were extinguished before any structures or additional acreage was burned.  Five fire trucks and approximately 20 volunteer firefighters were on the scene.
