A front porch fire on Kenneytown Road caused an estimated $2,500 worth of damage on Wednesday afternoon, according to a report by the Greene County Sheriff's Department.
The owner and a witness reported having left the residence, at 3775 Kenneytown Road around 4 p.m. and having returned around 7 p.m. to find the porch in flames.
Deputy Gregg Tipton said in the report that the witness noted he had taken a couple of logs from the fireplace that had not burned overnight Tuesday and placed them on the front porch "where the fire appears to have started."
