No foul play is suspected in a fire early today that destroyed a barn at 100 Blake Road, between Greystone and Deerwood roads.

Sheriff's deputies responded about 6:15 a.m. to a structure fire call.

When they arrived, "The barn had already burned to the ground," Deputy Aaron Spears said in a report.

No injuries were reported.

The Camp Creek and Sunnyside volunteer fire departments responded to the scene, along with Greene County-Greeneville Emergency Medical Services.

"There was electricity to the barn," the report said.

The owner is listed as William Mercer, of Patricia Lane, Greeneville.

Fire damage to the barn and contents is estimated at $30,000.
