Motorists on the way to work this morning found thick fog conditions, particularly in low spots, such as at the deadly intersection of Bridge Burners Boulevard and U.S. 11E. This photo, made at 6:45 a.m., looks east on U.S. 11E toward Greeneville as one truck in the distance prepares to turn right onto Bridge Burners Boulevard and a Walmart truck, in the foreground, also prepares to turn right toward the company's Distribution Center. The yellow traffic sign is new, as are seven similar ones at the intersection, which has been the site of two fatal crashes in the last 18 months. TDOT is in the process of making further safety modifications at the intersection.
