A freeze watch in effect for Tuesday night and Wednesday morning is a chilling reminder that summer isn't here quite yet.
The National Weather Service in Morristown is cautioning of possible freezing temperatures throughout Southwest Virginia and Northeast Tennessee due to a high pressure movement ushering in chilly temperatures late Tuesday.
According to the watch, temperatures may drop to, or below, freezing across the area by early Wednesday morning.
These conditions could last between one and three hours.
The weather service warned that conditions could cause damage to--or kill-- crops and other sensitive vegetation that is left unprotected.
