A 13-year-old girl has been arrested and charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault on her father following the Greene County Sheriff's Department's response to a domestic dispute and stabbing.
She is currently being held in Juvenile Detention, according to Detective Capt. John Huffine of the Sheriff's Department.
The 69-year-old stabbing victim reportedly told officers that he had gone to bed, and woke up to his daughter stabbing him late Sunday night.
Deputies Michael MacDonald and David Love responded to a call at 11:24 p.m., Sunday and reportedly found the man, who lives on Greystone Road, according to MacDonald's report.
The man was located in his neighbor's driveway with "multiple stab wounds and lacerations about his face, neck, shoulders, arms and hands, and was covered in blood," the report stated.
The stabbing victim said that there had been no prior argument or altercation prior to the stabbing, according to the report.
"The victim stated that it must be the devil in her," and that the juvenile never spoke during the stabbing, MacDonald said in the report.
The Greystone Road resident also told officers that he fled to his vehicle, which he then drove to a neighbor's home and used his car horn to get their attention, the report stated.
The neighbors told the deputies that they heard the car horn and went outside, to find their neighbor open his car door while "covered in blood," according to the report.
Greene County-Greeneville Emergency Medical Services was called on the scene, and the victim was flown to the Johnson City Medical Center, the report said.
According to a hospital spokesman, he is no longer a patient there. No other information on his status was available.
Also in the report, MacDonald said that the deputies found a "large butcher knife and cell phone" that was "covered in blood" in the passenger seat of the man's car.
Deputies found the juvenile in a field between the two residences and took her into custody, according to the report.
