Many local offices will close in observance of Good Friday on March 29.
Although the day is not a federal holiday, Tennessee recognizes the Friday before Easter as an official state holiday.
Federal offices, including the James H. Quillen United States Courthouse, the Social Security office, and the U.S. Post Office will be open.
However, all Greene County offices, including the Greene County Health Department, will be closed Friday. The County Clerk's office will be closed Friday and Saturday.
All county convenience centers for garbage collection will be open on a regular schedule Friday.
Greeneville Town Hall will be closed, along with Mosheim Town Hall and Baileyton Town Hall.
Tusculum City Hall will remain open on Friday.
The Greeneville Public Works Department will be closed, as it is every Friday.
The Greeneville-Greene County Transfer Station and Demolition Landfill will close on Friday.
Normal hours of operation from 7 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. to 3 p.m. will resume on Monday, April 1.
The Greeneville Water Department and the Greeneville Light & Power System offices will be closed on Friday.
Both the Greeneville City Schools and the Greene County Schools will be closed on Friday.
The Greeneville-Greene County Library will be closed on Friday, as well as the T. Elmer Cox Historical and Genealogical Library.
The Greene County Y, formerly the YMCA, will be open on a regular schedule on Friday and Saturday, but will be closed on Easter Sunday.
The Boys & Girls Club of Greeneville & Greene County will be closed on Friday for a long holiday weekend.
The Greene County Partnership office and the Tennessee Department of Human Services will be closed.
The Greeneville Sun will be open on a regular schedule on Friday, and the Sun will be delivered on a regular schedule Friday and Saturday.
