The Greeneville Board of Mayor and Aldermen will consider updating the town's sign ordinance and building and fire codes on second and final reading Tuesday.

The board meeting begins at 4 p.m. in the G. Thomas Love Boardroom at Greeneville Light & Power System headquarters.

After completing the agenda, aldermen will reconvene as the Greeneville Beer Board to consider beer permit requests.

During their last meeting in December, aldermen voted unanimously on first reading in favor of the proposed updates to the town's sign ordinance.

At the same meeting, the board also voted unanimously on first reading in favor of an ordinance to update the town's building and fire codes, as required by the State of Tennessee.

Both items are scheduled to be considered on second and final reading Tuesday.

Also on the agenda is a resolution to update building permits and other fees.

Board members will consider two Pool Room Permit requests -- one for Hot Wheels Sports Complex, at 390 E. Andrew Johnson Hwy., and another for Rack Em Up Billiards at 125 W. Depot St.

Aldermen will also hear an update about issues related to a heat pump at Greeneville Town Hall.

Meeting as the Beer Board, aldermen will consider two permit requests.

A permit for off-premise consumption will be considered for CVS Pharmacy at 506 Asheville Hwy.

A permit for on-premise consumption will be considered for Mike's at 921 W. Main St.
