The Greene County Health Department will hold a mass flu vaccination clinic for area residents on Tuesday, Nov. 20, from 8 to 10 a.m., at the health department, located at 810 West Church St.
The clinic is designed to allow people to be able to get in and out quickly, officials say.
Appointments must be made in order to receive a flu vaccine at this clinic. To schedule an appointment, call 798-1749.
"It takes about two weeks to be protected after you get the flu vaccine, so it's a good idea to get the vaccine as soon as it's available," said Jackie Neas, nursing supervisor for the Greene County Health Department, in a news release.
"The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends everyone six months of age and older get a flu vaccine each year, and we urge everyone to take this important preventive step to protect health in our community," Neas added.
The cost to receive the flu vaccine at the clinic is $15.
Only Medicare plans through Cigna and Railroad will be billed at this clinic.
TennCare patients must receive their flu vaccine from their primary care physician.
