Motivational humorist Bryan Townsend will be the speaker at the Greene County Partnership Agribusiness Committee's 24th Annual Farm-City Banquet in November.

The banquet is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 8 at the Clyde Austin 4-H Camp.

The evening will feature a chicken meal with all the trimmings followed by the presentation of the J.W. Massengill Distinguished Service to Agriculture Award and the Robert C. Austin Distinguished Service to Community Award.

Townsend is a professional speaker and writer who has spoken to thousands of audiences all across the United States, a news release stated.

He has written advertising copy, newspaper columns, magazine articles, and several books, including "Life is An Adventure," "Making Good Things Happen," "How to Get Raises and Promotions," and "Selling in the Bear Woods."

Bryan began his career in broadcasting while attending Jacksonville State University. He started as a part-time radio deejay and worked his way up to management and ownership.

After his station became one of the first profitable FM stations in the country, he was asked to speak for various broadcast groups and tell about the success of his station.

He managed the station for 19 years until he left to pursue speaking and writing full-time.

He has spoken to hundreds of the nation's major corporations and associations in more than 500 cities from coast-to-coast, and quite often is invited back to speak for groups a second and third time.

Bryan has earned the designation of Certified Speaking Professional from the National Speakers Association and has been inducted into the Speaker Hall of Fame.
