The Industrial Development Board of the Town of Greeneville and
Greene County announced this morning that it is seeking to partner with a financial institution
to fund a tax increment note that is to be issued for the former Walmart building property on East
Andrew Johnson Highway in Greeneville.
The estimated appraisal value of the project after completion is $9.5 million.
The incremental property taxes that would be allocated to the Industrial Development Board for the project upon completion would be a total of $75,205.20 annually (based upon current tax rates) for a period of 15 years.
The project area will be redeveloped by Steve Johnson and Johnson Commercial Development to include two large retail stores for national tenants.
