The condition of a Greeneville man injured Saturday in a motorcycle wreck on Asheville Highway has apparently improved.
Jack E. Collins, 63, was flown by helicopter to Johnson City Medical Center after the wreck. He was listed in critical but stable condition Wednesday and remains in the hospital intensive care unit, a spokeswoman said.
Collins had been listed in critical condition since the crash.
Collins was riding a motorcycle that collided with a car in front of the Creekside Market, in the 8600 block of the Asheville Highway.
The driver of a 1997 Acura sedan involved in the crash, 36-year-old Arthur K. Tidwell III, was not injured, a Tennessee Highway Patrol report said.
Tidwell "turned directly in front of (Collins)," who was northbound on Asheville Highway on a 2005 Yamaha V-Star motorcycle, the report said.
Charges are pending against Tidwell, the THP report said.
