Kinser Park Comm. Hears Report On Rent-Owing Campers

Originally published: 2013-09-26 11:09:14

Members of the Kinser Park Commission heard an update Tuesday concerning attempts to make collections from campers who have not paid rent owed for their campsites.

Park Manager Shari Oster told the board that so far, one trailer has been removed from its site for non-payment and the tenant's lack of response to collection attempts.

Another trailer, Oster said, may be pulled from a campsite this week. A third trailer may also be removed soon.

Three other campers, Oster reported, have worked out a payment plan and adhered to it.

Board members agreed that removal of non-paying tenants was the appropriate course of action.

It was noted that contracts Kinser Park campers sign contain standard procedures for non-payment, and that trailers should be removed in accordance with those guidelines.

In addition to the update on payments, Oster gave a brief update on a fundraising effort to place additional playground equipment at the park.

Oster reported that so far, $1,000 has been raised, and another $1,000 has been pledged.

Following Oster's regular manager's report, the board had no new items of business to consider.

The group did, however, vote to make a recommendation to the Greeneville Board of Mayor and Aldermen to fill a vacant seat.

The board voted unanimously to recommend that Janet Malone be appointed to the board.

Malone has volunteered with the board for a number of months, acting as secretary to record minutes of each meeting.
