Sun Photo by Will Mackay
There were numerous rainbows in the sky over Greeneville and Greene County on Monday afternoon, thanks to intermittent hard showers mixed with some sunshine. Locally, it was just that kind of Labor Day. This photo was taken about 5:30 p.m. just west of Greeneville on the West Andrew Johnson Highway. The drivers of several vehicles noticed the strikingly colorful rainbow and pulled off the highway to photograph it. There was no rain at the place this picture was made, but by the time the driver reached Greeneville, he found himself in a downpour.
