A Greeneville man died of injuries following a motorcycle crash about 7 p.m. Saturday on Sunnydale Road.
Charles Greer, 46, of 2585 White Sands Road, was westbound on Sunnydale Road when the motorcycle he was riding went off the right side of the road, "causing him to skid several feet and then strike a tree," sheriff's Deputy John Stills said in a report.
Greer was not wearing a helmet, the report said. He was flown by Wings Air Rescue to Johnson City Medical Center.
Greer suffered extensive injuries in the crash, said Robert Sayne, director of Greene County-Greeneville Emergency Medical Services.
A contributing factor in the crash was "failure to keep in (the) proper lane," the report said.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete.
