A man charged with driving under the influence following a head-on collision in October 2102 that left the other driver permanently disabled was arrested Sunday on warrants, sheriff's deputies said.
Christopher A. Fillers, 30, of Doc Hawkins Road, was charged in April with driving under the influence and vehicular assault in connection with the Oct. 31, 2012, crash.
Fillers was charged after toxicology test results became available, Trooper Paul Kilday, of the Tennessee Highway Patrol, said in a report.
Fillers had recently been in several out-of-state rehabilitation clinics but was located Sunday by sheriff's deputies at a Doc Hawkins Road house.
He was picked up on arrest warrants, and was also charged with violation of probation, Deputy Jeff Caudill said in a report.
A report after the wreck said that Fillers was heading northbound on West Main Street in a 1996 Buick Park Avenue. The other driver was southbound in a 2007 Toyota Scion.
Fillers' car crossed the center line and struck the other car head-on, Kilday said in a report.
The other driver, Kelvin Fillers, suffered permanent disabling injuries as a result of the crash, deputies said. He and Christopher Fillers are not related.
Christopher Fillers is held on no bond pending a first General Sessions Court appearance today.
