Man Charged With DUI, Drug Possession

Jessie Dean Wilhoit, 24, of 566 Hartman Lane, was charged Saturday with driving while impaired and multiple drug possession counts, Greeneville police officer Eddie Short said in a report.

Police received a call about a man seen "slumped over" behind the steering wheel at gas pumps at the Marathon Market, 301 Asheville Hwy., Officer Eddie Short said in a report.

Wilhoit was determined to be "under the influence," the report said.

He was carrying a container that held pills of various types, including Xanax, Diazepam, Suboxone, Oxycontin and Opana.

Wilhoit was also charged with possession of Schedule II, Schedule III and Schedule IV drugs.

Bond was set at $4,000 pending a first scheduled General Sessions Court appearance today.
