The Greeneville Police Department is investigating the death of a Greeneville man found dead at the Comfort Inn on East Andrew Johnson Highway.
Williom Jenkins Rumley, 1525 Old Snapps Ferry Road, was found Thursday after Rumley's ex-wife notified hotel staff that she was unable to contact him.
"Upon arrival, the front desk clerk attempted using her master key card to gain entry to the room, but the door lock did not open," the report said.
"The door was opened and a man was found [lying] on the left side of the bed with a single gun shot wound to the head. A wallet was found inside a pair of denim jeans in the floor of the room beside the man."
"The wallet contained identification cards of Williom Jenkins Rumley," the report said.
An autopsy will be performed on the body, according to the report. Rumley was last seen by his ex-wife on Tuesday.
