Travis J. Wilhoit, 30, of 125 Cosley Lane, faces multiple charges filed by Greeneville police and the Greene County sheriff's office in connection with a series of incidents on Friday.
Sheriff's Deputy Ricky Graham said in a report that a house in the 1000 block of Welcome Grove Road was burglarized and gold jewelry was taken.
Further investigation found that Wilhoit allegedly used a screwdriver to enter the house through the basement.
A deputy responding Friday to a burglary alarm at the house on Welcome Grove Road encountered Wilhoit, who said he was helping the owner work on his barn, the report said.
Wilhoit was later pulled over by Greeneville police.
He was found in possession of gold jewelry, a report by Greeneville police Officer Eddie Short said.
Wilhoit was also found to have 53 grams of suspected marijuana, along with a set of weighing scales and plastic bags.
Also found were a loaded shotgun and a .22 caliber rifle, the report said.
A 5-year-old boy was also in the vehicle when it was pulled over.
A partially-smoked marijuana cigarette was found on the seat near the child, the report said.
Wilhoit allegedly called a woman on Friday that had earlier taken out an order of protection against him, and he had earlier threatened to harm her, the report said.
Wilhoit was charged with aggravated burglary, possession of a firearm during commission of a dangerous felony, reckless endangerment, possession of a Schedule VI (marijuana) controlled substance for resale, theft of property valued over $1,000, violation of an order of protection, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was held without bond in connection with the violation of the order of protection charge.
Bond on the other charges was set at $43,000.
Wilhoit is scheduled to appear today in General Sessions Court.
