A Greeneville man charged Sunday by Johnson City police with kidnapping and other felony offenses had a juvenile girl passenger during a pursuit that ended with his vehicle running into another car, police said today.
Brandon Rowe, 29, of 406 Elk St., was charged with kidnapping, aggravated assault, evading arrest, reckless endangerment and resisting arrest.
Police answered a call of a suspicious person at the Roadrunner Market in the 800 block of North State of Franklin Road, "and Rowe fled from officers in his vehicle, striking a police cruiser in the process," a report said.
The chase ended when Rowe crossed the center line and crashed into an oncoming vehicle on North Greenwood Drive, police said.
He was taken into custody "after a short foot chase," the report said.
Police did not provide any details about the kidnapping charge on Monday.
Rowe was being held in the Washington County Detention center on $125,000 bond.
He is scheduled to appear Thursday in Washington County General Sessions Court.
