A Greeneville man was charged with simple assault Thursday night after allegedly striking a Greene County-Greeneville Emergency Medical Services worker trying to assist him during a medical call, Greeneville police Officer Josh Pierce said in a report.
Tony E. Baldwin, 41, of 309 Biddle St., was charged with the offense after EMS personnel responded to his address.
Baldwin has a history of being argumentative with EMS personnel, the report said.
On Thursday night, he allegedly "became combative" and struck an EMS worker "attempting to perform medical duties," the report said.
The EMS worker was taken to a local hospital emergency room for an examination, the report said.
Bond for Baldwin was set at $1,000. He will appear Nov. 26 in General Sessions Court.
